Epoxy Remover User Guidelines

Important instructions for the use of Epoxy Remover:

  • Use Epoxy Remover only in metal tanks.
  • Never use Epoxy Remover in glass fibre or carbon fibre (chemical reaction)
  • Epoxy Remover should only be used in a tank on room temperature.
  • Don’t put the tank in the sunshine or near flammable objects.
  • Don’t bring Epoxy Remover near heat sources or a hot surface.
  • Do not use Epoxy Remover in combination with other products 
  • Do not use Epoxy Remover in tanks with left over petrol or oil
  • It is best to use Epoxy Remover in the outside air.

DO NOT APPLY HIGH TEMPERATURES/FLAME TO YOUR TANK AFTER YOU HAVE USED 

EPOXY REMOVER. RISK OF EXPLOSSION CAUSED BY GASSES OF THE EPOXY REMOVER

Application of Epoxy Remover

Epoxy Remover can be used to remove old layers of epoxy sealant on the inside of your petrol or oil tank. First 

remove all the petrol en clean the thank with water. Thoroughly dry your tank an let it cool down completely 

before you put the Remover in the tank.

Take care not to spill any of the Remover on the painted outside of the tank: Epoxy Remover will eat it away 

quickly. Shut the opening of the petrol tap very well (not only tape! Use a real plug). Make sure to have an 

adequate plug for the filler opening as well.

Warning: Never put Epoxy Remover in a pre heated tank! 

Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek 

medical advice immediately. Use Epoxy Remover in a well ventilated environment.

Put the remover in the tank and shut the filler opening. Slowly shake the tank a couple of seconds to make sure 

that the remover will cover the complete bottom section of the tank. Open the filler cap after shaking the tank to 

avoid a build up of pressure inside the tank. Shut the filler opening again and leave the tank in such a way that 

over-pressure can escape.

WARNING: 

A difference in temperature of the tank and de epoxy remover can cause a fast rising overpressure in the 

Keep the tank in a cool well ventilated area during several days. Then drain all the left over epoxy remover and 

clean the tank with plenty of water. Before you apply a new layer of tank sealant clean out the tank with Tank 

Cleaner

Personal protection: Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. 

Handling: Only use in well ventilated areas. 

First aid measures: Skin contact: Wash with soap en water.

Storage: Store product in cool well ventilated place.

Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

Keep away from sources of ignition.

Eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running 

water.

Inhalation: Supply fresh air. Consult doctor in case of complaints.

Swallowing: Rinse mouth with water, consult doctor.

Keep away from sunshine or other heat sources.

Keep out of reach of children.

 

Ecological information: Do not allow product to reach ground water, water course or 

sewage system.
